For their usefulness for English pronunciation of classical names, I've scanned some pages from Charles Annandale's Concise English Dictionary, ca. 1925 — a book which I don't think is at all available online anywhere else (...unlike many other works (which see) that are worth consulting on these issues).
You can download annandale.zip, a zip file about 89 megs long, which contains this web page and all the scans that this page links to.

from the main dictionary) |
The book's title page calls it The Concise English Dictionary / Literary Scientific and Technical / with / Pronouncing Lists of Proper Names and of Foreign Words and Phrases— Key to Names in Mythology and Fiction— And Other Valuable Appendices— Also a Supplement of Words of Recent Occurrence / By Charles Annandale, M.A., LL.D. / Editor of Ogilvie's "Imperial Dictionary" "The Student's English Dictionary" etc. / With Sixteen Plates Printed in Colour" and finally "Blackie and Son Limited / London Glasgow and Bombay".
The spine says "The Concise English Dictionary / Dr. Annandale". The cover says "The Concise English Dictionary / Dr Annandale / Illustrated in Colour / Pronouncing Etymological / Scientific and Technical / Phrases and Synonyms / Biographical Geographical / and Other Appendices". The bastard title page says simply "The Concise English Dictionary". The colophon is of no help.
Nowhere in the book is there any claim of copyright, nor even any date of publication or printing!
Based on the book's fascinating "Moneys of the World" section, (p863, p864), my sense is to date this at 1925, but possibly two or even three years later.
